How lucky am I

We are still working on the house, putting everything together and fixing the surprises on the way.  I know it has been a lot of stress for Kyle.  Today will mark the second day in a row that I will not be getting to see him and I'm actually ok about it.  In the past I could never give space or calmly accept space when it occurred.  Apparently being in a loving, secure relationship changes things.  I know that Kyle's focus is on the house and getting it ready especially since his parents are coming, and that I am not first priority.  Best part is I am completely accepting of that and support him in putting all his efforts elsewhere.  I know this is not permanent and eventually everything will calm down, the focus will change and we can go back to quality time together.  In the meantime I'm taking the opportunity to use my free time to catch up on projects and friends so that when the time comes, I too will be ready to give my full attention to Kyle.  I know he worries about my feelings when I'm not getting his full attention and trying to work around my presence in the house, but because we have such open communication I do not worry and know that our relationship is strong and this is just a part of life.  He told me he misses me and goes back and forth on whether he wants me there or not, and that he is trying to get the house ready for us!  Needless to say his needing space to finish the house reflects him wanting everything nice so we can both enjoy it.

I wake up every day to the knowledge that I have met an amazing man who wants to care for me and be by my side in this life's journey.  He adores me and is always concerned for my happiness.  He loves me the way I am and keeps me being my best self.  I have waited my whole life to meet someone like this and wasn't sure he existed.  But here I am with a wonderful man that has made all my dreams come true.  We are equal partners wanting the best for each other.  I did not realize that someone could make you feel so safe, protected, want to try new things and gain confidence through constant support and appreciation.

I have looked at other people and wished I had what they had, but truth be told I have it even better!  I am grateful every day for Kyle and having him in my life.  I want to spend a lifetime appreciating and loving him as he does the same for me.  The possibilities are endless and I look forward to sharing the journey with him.
