We slept in, got up, had breakfast then headed on the open road to Oregon. It was 12 hours in the car and I have to say it was the most fun I've ever had on a road trip. It was also the longest time Todd and I have ever been together alone. It was so nice to finally arrive home and be able to sleep in our bed. The next morning we unpacked, ran errands and relaxed at home.
Thursday morning we packed and got ready to head to Astoria for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Cannery Pier Hotel and it was the best experience ever! Everything about the hotel was great, from the room, wine and cheese and cookies every night with a great breakfast. So nice to be spoiled and feel like the rich. Over the next 2 days we ate at the Bowpicker, did a tour of the Flavel House, Oregon Film Museum and Heritage Museum. We enjoyed the jetted tub and sparkling cider. Enjoyed sitting out on the desk with the sunset and spending time together. Got couples massages and ventured through the city. We took the vintage car to dinner at the Baked Alaska, made friends along the way. It was a wonderful honeymoon.
I feel so lucky to be married to my best friend. Someone who loves me flaws and all and makes me want to be my best. Todd is wonderful and I'm so grateful he is a part of my life!

Goodbye Dating World - Hello Marriage!
After much anticipation at Todd's arrival he finally arrived on July 24th. I picked him up at the airport, sign in hand, trying not to freak out. The second I saw him, he was just how I pictured him and same in person. The last piece of the puzzle. He hugged and kissed, then we fetched his luggage. Yes he was definitely very tall in person and many people looked our way. Everything we had talked about and everything that lead up to this was completely realized in person. I took him back to my place, gave him the tour and we hung out a bit before heading over to my parents where we would both stay while he was visiting. They seemed to really like him right at the start. The next morning I took him back to my house and made him a waffle breakfast, might have killed the bacon part though. Then we headed to the Gorge. We stopped at the nearby outlet mall and got him some new jeans and walked around the mall. Then headed up the old highway, stopped at Vista Point, had lunch near the first falls and then proceeded to stop and hike to all the waterfalls along the way. The last one was Multnomah Falls. We made it up to the bridge and asked if we could take a picture together, he said in the little bit so we walked past the bridge to where the trail rounds the other side of the mountain. We headed back to the bridge where he asked a very Portland looking guy if he would take a couple pictures of us. Todd gave the guy his camera and as I got ready to pose he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Surprised I asked if he was serious and then said YES! Many people clapped and cheered and that moment had finally happened in my life.
As we headed back down he asked where should we go to get our rings. From there we drove to the Shane Co. and picked out our rings. The plan was that we were going to elope on Monday in my parents backyard with my two friends present. We didn't tell anyone Friday about what had occurred. That night we went out to dinner to celebrate. The next morning we had breakfast with my parents and told them the news. Both were so happy, my dad even teared up. We spent the morning with my parents at the Saturday Market and then to lunch to celebrate. When we called up Todd's parents to tell them the news, the eloping part did not go over so well with his mom, so we changed things instead to coming to Utah to get married with our families present. Todd and I spent the rest of the day relaxing. Sunday we went to church were I got to introduce him as my fiancé and then dinner with Mitzi and Aimee's families. It was a fun night and Todd really loved all my friends. Monday we hung out with my parents for part of the day, picked up our rings and then headed to the beach. Tuesday we hung out and then I had to drive Todd back to the airport and said good bye for a bit. He left on July 29th and I was to fly to Utah on August 7th. That was the amount of time we had to plan a wedding and wait to see each other again.
I then spent the next 5 days trying to get things done. Todd and his mom got the wedding venue, flowers, food, etc picked out the wedding planner. I got the engagement pictures and announcements completed. Found a dress, had it altered and got all the little things done. Yes it is completely possible to get a wedding planned in 5 days, its a little intense, but it can be done. Then I had a week to wait and then flew out to Utah for our wedding. Todd picked my up at the airport, we went and watched his brother play softball then to his parents house. The next morning I got to meet his mom and sister and a few relatives as we worked on tying a quilt that was to be for our wedding. Then Todd and I took the two seater and went up to the radio tower at the top of the mountain. It was so beautiful and fun to be with him again. That night we went out to dinner, then to the park to listen to a concert, then to Todd's brother house to spend time with his wife and child. Saturday we went to the parade, hung out at the fair and booths, then picked up the marriage license, Todd's tux and had lunch. Because I was there during Salem Days I got to meet a whole bunch of his extended family while enjoying Todd's favorite event of the year. That night we went with his family to the BBQ dinner and then auction. afterwards we went to his aunts house to watch the fireworks. Sunday we met with the Bishop who was to marry us then to Ogden to spend time with my family and relatives on both sides of the family.

My family showed up and we started getting ready for the wedding. My cousin was there to take pictures, Todd's mom did my makeup and then we just waited. The mom's and I were the last to leave, as we were driving there it started to rain and it was just enough to bring some clouds and cool the temperature down. Honestly it was the perfect weather for the perfect wedding. I waited in the car until it was my turn. Kacie came and had my crying the second she came up to the car, had to put myself back together. Then it was my turn. My dad walked me down he aisle, the wind was blowing so people had to hold down the aisle-way. Todd looked amazing, I am so lucky to be marrying my best friend! The bishop did an excellent job. We tied our God's knot, exchanged rings and said our I do's. Then we kissed and just like that all those years of waiting and wondering were over. I had finally met the right person and we were now married! So HAPPY!
